The 10th annual Indie Author Day will be celebrated this year on November 13 and 14. The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library is planning a day of activities at the Central Library on Saturday, November 14.

Indie Author Day

“Whether you’re a published author or just starting your journey, this free event is for you,” the B&ECPL noted in an online announcement. “Book lovers are encouraged to come meet local and indie talent and shop local and indie books.”

The B&ECPL will provide event updates at buffalolib.org. The Central Library is located at 1 Lafayette Square, Buffalo, NY 14203. Online registration for the Buffalo event is now open at https://buffalolib.libcal.com/event/17298202.

“Walk-ins are welcome, but registration ensures you get event updates and goes a long way towards helping us plan and grow the event,” the B&ECPL noted. Participants who need assistance with registration can contact TechKnow Lab Librarian Jacqueline Hovey at 716-858-7384 or hoveyj@buffalolib.org.

The B&ECPL hosts several recurring writers group meetings at branch locations. They include: the Writers Coop Group that meets the third Friday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Crane Branch; the First and Third Tuesday Writers Club that meets from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Boston Free Library, and; the Buffalo Writers’ Critique Group, which meets on Saturdays at the Central Library. The library system also maintains a resource guide for independent authors.

The organizers of the international celebration plan to host online presentations for authors throughout Friday, November 13 at indieauthorday.com. The website also offers recordings of past presentations.
