The aptly-named bakery Buffalo Delights has opened its doors in the University Heights neighborhood. I visited during the soft launch on Easter weekend and found a welcoming atmosphere welcoming and truly delicious food.
The menu featured several promising breakfast sandwich options (and an illustrated dragon). My choice was “The Den,” with eggs, crisp bacon, dill, arugula and homemade garlic aioli on an English muffin. Every bite was a savory wonder.
A picture-perfect flaky croissant was satisfyingly buttery and delicate, and paired nicely with the cold brew coffee. Full but still curious, I took a scone for the road. Its combination of lavender, thyme and white chocolate was subtle, well-balanced and absolutely delectable.
I’m planning return trips to enjoy some of the cakes and cookies that were so appealingly displayed.
Owner and baker Tina Macey founded Buffalo Delights in 2021, first subletting a kitchen on Chandler Street, then moving to Main Street in 2023. The freshly updated storefront is bright with natural light and the dining area has tables for two to four. (Star Wars fans will appreciate some fun decor.)
